With the delightful town of St Gilles Croix de Vie just on the doorstep, campsite holidays in France don't come much better than at Bahamas Beach.
This family friendly campsite is part of the Chadotel group of sites which recently won the 'Grand Prix du Tourisme'.
Over the years it has been established as a 'firm favourite' with our guests. The ports of St Malo and Caen are just ½ days drive away and there are regular sailings with Brittany Ferries and Condor Ferries. This is also a perfect destination with which to tag on a trip to Disney. With this in mind the best travel options would be Eurotunnel or short sea crossings to Calais with either SeaFrance or P&O.

Being just 800m from the sea, this campsite is just perfect for family camping holidays near the beach.
Water-sport enthusiasts are exceptionally well catered for in this area. Whether you want to learn to water ski or scuba dive, there is plenty of tuition available.
The campsite facilities are great for families. The large heated swimming pool has a retractable cover, which is perfect for swimming at all times of the season. Little ones will love the separate children's pool, fountain and water chutes.
The sandy children's playground has some great activities and kids will be happy there even just building a sandcastle or digging a hole.
Other onsite activities include Crazy Golf, Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball and Football.
Not forgetting that the Koala Club will be organising regular activity sessions for the 5-12yr olds. Ask our onsite staff for more details.
Of an evening there is an entertainment programme (high season) which includes competitions, live music, bingo and Karaoke. The games room is a great hangout for teenagers and older children whilst the adults relax with a drink at the bar.

The region is ideally explored on a bicycle. Being flat and with many cycle routes through the shady forests, even the most modest of cyclist will enjoy the ride.
Just 1 mile away, St Gilles Croix de Viecontinues to be a colourful and picturesque town. Despite having grown from a small fishing port, it still retains much of its original charm. There is a lively weekly market in the square where you can delight in shopping for locally produced cheese, vegetables, wine and even salt. Take a stroll along the quayside where you will find quaint cafes and bistros' offering local catches of fruits de mer.
Atlantic Toboggan water-park with its hair-raising array of waterslides, and various pools is an ideal day trip for cooling off on particularly hot sunny days.
The Sea Life Aquarium at Noirmoutier is a perfect activity regardless of the weather conditions. The sea lion display and the glass floor shark tank should definitely not be missed!
Particular mention should be made of Le Puy de Fou. Organised trips can be reserved at the campsite reception. The medieval spectacular and theme park is a worthy day (and night) out. Ferocious Gladiatorial battles are re-enacted, Viking ships are burned, and Roman chariots are raced. Of an evening La Cinescenie features a night-time extravaganza with a cast of over 1000 actors on the world's largest stage.
