Chateau des Ormes

It is almost 30 years since Monsieur de la Chesnais embarked upon developing his ancestral family home of over 150 years into one of Europe's most impressive holiday parcs. It would seem that despite being probably the most impressive parc in the north of France, each year something new is added to surprise us. The fantastic new aquatic pool complex is a wonderful addition to the long list of facilities on offer at Chateau des Ormes. Where else in Brittany could you enjoy indoor water slides, palm trees and a tropical climate even in early or late season? The transformation must be almost complete.

Set in the grounds of a 400 year old chateau the facilities are extensive. Exploring the estate by cycle or on horseback will help you familiarise yourself with the surroundings. Bordering the parc is beautiful woodland with cycle ways and footpaths allowing you access throughout the 500 acres. It is only a 5 minute walk through the woods to the village of St. Leonards, where you'll find a small Sunday market, a peaceful church and some 'local' French bars and restaurants

A top quality 18 hole championship standard golf course forms part of the facilities, as does a cricket pitch, water park with several slides, onsite riding stables, and a non-stop entertainment programme suitable for all ages. The location is consistently highly recommended by our customers.

The austere looking St. Samson's a 13th century cathedral dominating the skyline of the colourful market town of Dol de Bretagne is only 5 minutes away by car.

The magnificent castle at Combourg is reputedly haunted and the woods surrounding Combourg are said to have been the inspiration for much of the work of the famous French romantic novelist Chateaubriand.

Travelling just a little further afield the delights of St. Malo a fortress island town, Dinan with its cobbled streets and old port and Mont St. Michel a mighty monastery rising from the sea can all be sampled.
