There is no better way to discover the region than by bicycle. Bikes are available to hire direct from the campsite. The area is fairly flat and there is plenty of shade from the Pines to make for a comfortable and enjoyable cycling experience.
Those with a head for heights, or with some 'little monkeys' in the family will love a day out at the nearby Tree Tops adventure Park, just a few minutes down the road.
St Gilles Croix de Vie is a delightful, colourful fishing port. There are some wonderful bistros along the quayside where you can sit back, watch the world go by sipping an ice cold drink, or take a stroll along the promenade at La Grande Plage one of the finest beaches in the region.
For a more commercialised day out, the bustling resort town of St Jean de Monts is just 8 miles up the coast and has shopping opportunities galore.
Gourmets are spoilt for choice with the vast choice of cuisine styles on offer.
A full day (and night) should be set aside for Le Puy de Fou. Guests have told us time and time again that this medieval Theme park is 'nothing less than spectacular'. You will witness extraordinary displays of falconry, Roman chariot racing, and Gladiatorial battles. The performance is a bloodthirsty spectacular with some amazing fireworks displays. Le Puy de Fou is definitely something not to be missed whilst on a camping holiday in the Vendee region of France.
