The austere looking St. Samson's a 13th century cathedral dominating the skyline of the colourful market town of Dol de Bretagne, is only 5 minutes away by car.
The magnificent castle at Combourg is reputedly haunted and the woods surrounding Combourg are said to have been the inspiration for much of the work of the famous French romantic novelist Chateaubriand.
Travelling just a little further afield the delights of St. Malo a fortress island town, Dinan with its cobbled streets and old port and Mont St. Michel a mighty monastery rising from the sea can all be sampled.
