Camping L'Oceano d'Or | Jard sur Mer | Vendee

During the daytime there are plenty of activities to keep the whole family busy. The large swimming pool complex with chutes and slides is a popular attraction during the hot summer months. Adults can chill out and relax on the sun terrace enjoying an ice cold drink, soaking up the sun whilst the kids splash around in the pools. We also have our very own Koala Club operating at this site. Activities for 5-12 year olds include Treasure hunts, Art & Crafts and Sports Tournaments. Ask our staff for more details.

Older children and teenagers will enjoy hanging out at the multi-sports courts, playing football, basketball or volleyball. They can join in with one of the many competitions that are organised during the season.

On an evening, the entertainment takes place in the amphitheatre beside the bar area. Live music, Cabaret, competitions are just some of the family entertainment on offer.

Oceano d'Or is an excellent choice of site from which to explore the Vendee region and fully appreciate a camping holiday in France.

The Chateau at Talmont St Hilaire is a brilliant day out for the budding historian. Located high on a rock, surrounded by water, the fortress of Talmont played an important part in the defence of Poitou against the invading Normans. Years later, several kings of France were made welcome along with Richard the Lion Heart during the crusade years.

The many Vendee beaches, particularly those at nearby La Sables d'Olonne and St Jean de Monts have a vast array of watersports on offer. Whether you want to learn to windsurf or sea kayak, there are schools on the beach to cater to your every need.

The fantastic aquarium at La Rochelle is less than 90 minutes drive where you can view hundreds of different fish from around the globe in tanks, torch pools and panoramic tunnels.

For a fun family day out Oceanile at Noirmoutier is within easy reach. The excellent water-park has over 20 water based activities, an abundance of slides and chutes, and a super wave pool. The whole family will be amused. Perfect on a hot sunny day!

Organised bus trips to Le Puy de Fou can be booked at campsite reception. The medieval theme parc and spectacular is a worthy day out. Watch a falconry display in the ruins of a 13th century chateau or see the Vikings at war. The Gallo-Roman amphitheatre hosts Gladiatorial battles, and the evening show has some fantastic bloodthirsty stunts and the fireworks are simply amazing.
