With a convenient location just on the edge of the beautiful town of Jard sur Mer, Oceano d'Or has a loyal following and has quickly become a French Freedom favourite. The town centre with all manner of shops bars and restaurants is only 5 minutes walk away, meaning that nights out can be enjoyed without relying on mum or dad to drive. Jard sur Mer is home to a picturesque 'port de plaisance' and there is easy access to a choice of 2 great beaches, both with free parking.
The large pool complex comprising 3 water slides, 2 pool basins, spacious sunbathing deck and poolside bar is a favourite place to cool off in the sunny Vendée climate. During the evening the bar and games room is perfect for all the family. This parc is another that forms part of the prestigious group of sites, which won the 'Grand Prix du Tourisme' recently.
Nearby:
Talmont St. Hilaire is well worth visiting, with its medieval castle rising high above the town. The zoo at Les Sables d'Olonne is well known and a popular day out. The motor museum at Talmont features a display of vintage, veteran and unusual motor vehicles.
Also worthy of mention is Le Puy du Fou a medieval spectacular and theme parc. The year is 1429 and Le Puy du Fou Castle is the theatre for a recreation of a ferocious battle. Gigantic war machines and spectacular stunts punctuate the bloodthirsty performance. Separated into different areas you also witness an extraordinary display of falconry featuring over 250 birds, a Viking Dragon ship emerging from the water in flames, racing Roman Chariots and Gladiatorial battles inside a 115 metre long stadium. Of an evening La Cinescenie featuring a night time extravaganza with a cast of over 1000 actors on the world's largest stage.
