Les Prairies de la Mer
This busy site is set in the heart of the French Riviera and will give an insight into the playground of the rich and famous. Sheltering in the St. Tropez gulf with a fine sandy beach front, Prairies de la Mer boasts all the facilities you would expect from a prestige site on the Cote d'Azur. If you fancy a day or night out in trendy St Tropez, you have the option of a boat trip over the bay from Port Grimaud (Little Venice) which is only across the road from the site, or a short car journey around the coast. St Tropez gives you an ideal opportunity to explore some of the best shops in the area, as well as some of the best and most exclusive bars and restaurants in France.
The tree covered site itself is equipped to an extremely high standard, with two great bars, which buzz throughout the season. Other facilities include a restaurant, tennis and two shops. Various water sport activities are offered via the site on the beach - and even the wash blocks have differing architecture featuring among others Greek and Egyptian styles. There is also a small train that runs on a regular basis around the site and takes in Port Grimaud en route.
Nearby
Port Grimaud, which was modelled on the architectural style of Venice, sits just by the entrance of the site and affords facilities second to none in a setting of truly outstanding beauty. The village comprises a host of individually coloured villas, which compliment each other perfectly. These houses are interwoven by a number of canals and quaint bridges, which turn the exploration of the area into a real adventure. High quality bars and restaurants punctuate the village - you never know what is round the corner!
St. Tropez sits on the opposite side of the bay - mix with the rich and famous and marvel at some of the most impressive ocean going yachts in the world. Or sunbathe on the lovely Pampelonne Beach . Less well known but certainly worth a visit is Bormes les Mimosas and nearby Le Lavandou, two small towns nestling on the coast and worth a visit for their floral displays alone. Toulon is within easy reach for a day trip, or head the other way along the coast slightly further afield towards Nice or even further to Monte Carlo.
