Sequoia Parc

Sequoia Parc is without question one of the finest campsites on the West Coast of France - as a member of the Castels et Camping federation you know standards will be high. The sunny emplacements are some of the largest we have seen. The focal point of the parc is a traditional French Chateau and the owners have carefully preserved the old coach houses and barns. These have been tastefully redeveloped into amenity areas and an impressive restaurant with an open beamed roof with an extensive menu.

The magnificent pool complex includes 3 very large freeform pools, a Jacuzzi, water slides and ample sunbathing deck. Regular entertainment is organised around the stage area within the chateau courtyard during the season including stage shows, discos and karaoke. The nearest beaches are only 3.5 miles away and just a little further afield are some of the best beaches in Europe. The site in general is ideal for younger families and couples.

Nearby:

Glorious sandy beaches running into a backdrop of pine forests typify the Charente region. The weather in this region is very special and regularly receives more hours of sunshine than even the south of France. The Zoo de la Palmyre is world renowned and well worth a visit with over 1500 different species of animal. The port town of La Rochelle is only a short drive away and has a beautiful old port and is fronted with superb restaurants.

France food and drink is all important and this region is no exception. The 'fruits de mer' can be sampled throughout the locality with fresh oysters from the nearby world-renowned oyster beds of Marennes featuring prominently. The local drink is Pineau Des Charentes and bartering with manufacturers at local markets is perfect. A short trip inland will take you to the town of Cognac, which lends its name to a drink. The famous distilleries of Martell, Hennessey and Courvoisier all offer guided tours in English and the opportunity to purchase discounted products.
